Issue 4 – Parton

The Usual Doubts

I don’t know
If this will be any good,
If I have anything good to say.

It always comes out wrong—
Too isolated
To be whole,
Half-true, -right, -deep enough,
Hard words too flat,
Soft words apathetic.
But I do care

It’s only that, somewhere,
In a billion pieces,
There is a single pane of glass
And though I try,
I can only pick up one
Grain of sand
At a time.
